Rialto Fire Department 2010 Water Safety Program Kick Off
Tuesday, July 21st from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M
Rialto, Calif. – April 5, 2010 – The Rialto Fire Department will be presenting the 4th annual Stewie the Duck Learns to Swim water safety program on April 7, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. at Dunn Elementary School (830 N. Lilac in Rialto). Rialto Fire Fighters will be teaching the first grade students the import rules of water safety, by reading to them the book, Stewie the Duck. Drowning is the leading cause of Death in Children 0-4 years old in California.
Since the Rialto Fire Department and the Rialto Unified School District have teamed up to promote water safety to all the first graders in the district, over 7600 students have heard the valuable water safety tips that can save lives. Since the program has started not one first grader in Rialto has been involved in a water incident.

The Rialto Fire Department would like to remind you the Drowning IS Preventable. Adult supervision of kids around water, Barriers around pools, and Classes in swimming and CPR, is an important key to prevention.
